Distances up to riders, most common is Barton Dam Parkinng lot to Chelsea , but riders may extend to what they want. Options include around Cavanuagh Lake (+10 mi) or trail north from Chelsea to North Territorial Road (+ 10 mi.) or loop to Waterloo and back on Rt. 52 or trail to Chelsea (+18). . Ride from Old St. Patrick‘s Church to Independence Lake, and back, about 22-24 miles, depending upon route. Pass a llama farm on Gregory road. Rest stop, with bathrooms, at Independence Lake.

We will ride the gravel roads on the North side of town, leaving from the parking lot of Old Saint Patrick‘s church (corner of Whitmore Lake & Northfield Church road.) Gravel, hybrid or mountain bike recommended.
Approximate pace is 11-14 mph, but slower or faster riders are welcome and we will regroup at various points. If you think you are significantly faster or slower than this pace please have a means to download the route so you don‘t get lost if you end up getting away from the group. Ride will be about 15-20 miles long. Route will be posted before the ride.
Rear lights and some form of rearview mirror is recommended. Bike helmets are required! Please be sure your bike is in good working order and bring supplies to fix a flat or do small repairs on the road if necessary.
Please RSVP if you are coming. Text 248-804-9775 if you will be late or need to cancel last minute so we don‘t leave anyone behind!
We will gather for a drink or a bite to eat at Rappourt or Captain Joe‘s after the ride for anyone who is interested.

Depending on the number of riders, the attendees may make several stops during the ride to regroup or may divide into smaller groups of varying speeds. Many in the group meet in Chelsea area restaurants after for some dinner and socializing. Start Location occasionally changes so check the calendar for any updates.

Tuesday Dirt Ride. Rollout is at 6:15pm from the parking lot of Aberdeen Bike. Distance varies from 20 to 35 miles. The ride goes year round and is dependent on the weather conditions. Lights are mandatory for fall, winter and spring rides. Routes vary each week and the group will wait for those that are having a bad day.

For 28- & 38-mile routes, pick up map prior to arriving at the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene.
• New Start Location for the 62- & 47-mile rides: The Pavilion Rec Center, 140 Pavilion Dr, Georgetown, KY 40324 (Just 0,7 miles North of the Hilton Garden Inn, take Champion Way to Pavilion Drive to parking lot.)
AABTS has permission to park at the Pavilion lot. However, if possible, ride to the starting location.
• New Start Location for the 28- & 38-mile rides: the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene (726 Lemons Mill Rd). (about 0.5-miles from the Georgetown College. AABTS has permission to park at the Church of the Nazarene lot.
• AABTS provided maps – “Horse Country Ride” Maps for all 4 routes available at the Pavilion parking lot or get your map prior to the start if you are on the shorter routes..
• Ride to Wallace Station for lunch, (or Lunch in Midway for the 28-mile route) see horse farms, distillery, mill, bird sanctuary.
• Alternative: The Bluegrass Cycling Club will have open club rides on Friday morning available at no charge to Horsey participants, details at www.bgcycling.net

Due to construction at Barton Nature Area parking lot, this ride will start at Delhi Park until construction is completed.
Ride Friday morning to Dexter and Hudson Mills Metro Park. Pack a lunch or stop in Dexter for coffee or Breakfast. C, B, and A riders welcome. Distances up to riders, most common is Delhi Metro Park to Dexter Metro Park to Hudson Mills Metro Park with 2-loops for 28 miles. Others may start in Dexter and join the main group about 30 minutes after Delhi Metro Park start time. This option shortens the 2-loop ride to 18 miles.
Note there is a $10 daily fee or annual pass required for cars to enter the metro parks. Park elsewhere and ride your bike to the start in Delhi Metro Park if you do not want to buy a daily or annual park pass. Bikes are free.

The Bluegrass Cycling Club‘s Horsey Hundred is our club‘s favorite invitational. This 2-day event, based in Georgetown, Kentucky, takes place Memorial Day Weekend. It offers routes from 21 to 100 miles each day through the horse farm country north of Lexington. Every year about 40 Ann Arbor Bicycle Touring Society (AABTS) members make the 5-6-hour drive to see what other club members are raving about.
AABTS is offering some special pre- and post-tour features again this year so you can make this a 2-, 3-, 4-, or even 5-day cycling vacation. Check the May AABTS Ride Calendar for more details.

Distances up to riders, most common is Barton Dam Parkinng lot to Chelsea , but riders may extend to what they want. Options include around Cavanuagh Lake (+10 mi) or trail north from Chelsea to North Territorial Road (+ 10 mi.) or loop to Waterloo and back on Rt. 52 or trail to Chelsea (+18). Alternative start is Wheeler Park in Ann Arbor on your own with meet up at Bird Hill Parking lot at start time or anywhere on Huron River Drive (join us as we ride by). Ride Saturday morning to Dexter (16 mi. RT) or Chelsea (32 mi. RT). Stop at Zous Zous in Chelsea for coffee and or snack. B, C riders and A riders welcome. Distances up to riders, most common is Barton Dam Parkinng lot to Chelsea , but riders may extend to what they want. Options include around Cavanuagh Lake (+10 mi) or trail north from Chelsea to North Territorial Road (+ 10 mi.) or loop to Waterloo and back on Rt. 52 or trail to Chelsea (+18). Alternative start is Wheeler Park in Ann Arbor on your own with meet up at Bird Hill Parking lot at start time or anywhere on Huron River Drive (join us as we ride by). In 2024 after 10 years in eastern Jackson county, we moved the Pedal and Whine Bike Tour to Albion in eastern Calhoun county. This enabled us to develop some great new rural routes with good pavement and gave us the opportunity to develop some unique gravel/paved routes. It also allowed us to change our venue to the popular Albion Malleable Brewing Company which is not only known for their fine craft brews, but also their delectable menu.

Alternative start is Wheeler Park in Ann Arbor on your own with meet up at Bird Hill Parking lot at start time or anywhere on Huron River Drive (join us as we ride by).
