CONE-AZALIA RIDER'S GUIDE
NOTE: This is NOT an AABTS sponsored ride

Sunday, April 25th 2021

CONE-AZALIA is a FREE self-supported gravel/mixed terrain ride. The ride is NOT A RACE and it’s NOT A NO DROP RIDE either. You could call it a glorified training ride if you really need to call it something. Go as fast or as slow as you’d like... We really don't care. Just come ride your bike!

RSVP

Please RSVP HERE by Friday 4/23 if you think there is a good chance you'll attend the CONE-AZALIA on Sunday, April 25th. This will allow us to give OG Brewing Co. a number of how many will attend.

COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES

All State Orders & Directives https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus/ must be followed when meeting up in person to ride. In addition to the Michigan Orders & Directives, for the health and safety of our community, cyclists are encouraged to...

  • All pre and post ride activities must be outside.
  • A mask must be worn when 6’ of distance CANNOT be maintained when you are not moving on your bike.
  • If you have been sick or around anyone that has been sick in the 7 days leading up to a ride please stay home.
  • If you get sick within 3 days of a ride please notify all who you came in contact with.

START/FINISH

YOU ARE WELCOME TO START AT ANYTIME IF YOU’D LIKE TO ONLY RIDE WITH CLOSE FRIENDS OR BY YOURSELF.

  • 100-mile @ 7:11am
  • 100k @ 9:11am
  • 50k @ 10:11am

ROUTES

CONE-AZALIA is a self-supported ride which is code for you better know where you are going. We recommend that you download the route to put on your Garmin... or follow a friend you trust who has done so. If you don’t know how to do that try asking a local shop who carries Garmin to help you out.

  • There is a party store at 42.8 miles if you need to stop for water/snacks
  • There are no places to stop for water/snacks. Bring everything you need
  • There are no places to stop for water/snacks. Bring everything you need

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Run tubeless tires if you can. The gravel south of Ann Arbor can be fresh and chunky at times.
  • Bring 1+ spare tubes, pump, etc. just in case.
  • Many railroad track crossings on the routes. Proceed with caution.
  • Follow all the rules of the road at all times.

CONE-AZALIA GRAVEL DISCLAIMER

In Monroe County and the surrounding areas they like to dump fresh gravel on the roads. Know that it won’t last forever and you just have to tough it out for a few miles at a time. You’ll gain a greater appreciation for the smooth gravel after those sections:)

POST-RIDE @ OG BREWING COMPANY

After the ride Original Gravity Brewing Co.  will be opening up their space at 12:00PM for CONE-AZALIA riders to get some post-ride food and beverages. They have outdoor seating available. Please bring a mask to wear when ordering and just hanging out.

PARKING

Please do NOT park in the Original Gravity Brewing Co.  parking lot so customers can park there. Street parking can be found on the surrounding streets.

THANK YOU!

A special thanks to everyone who helps make the CONE-AZALIA happen. Without the support of local businesses and organizations cool events like this would not happen. Thanks to OG Brewing Company, Ann Arbor Running Company and the Ann Arbor Velo Club for their support.
