?? Wednesday, August 5, 2026
?? All rides depart from Historic Fort Wayne, 6325 W Jefferson Ave, Detroit
History in the making, y’all. After years of waiting, the Gordie Howe International Bridge’s multi-use path opens to cyclists and pedestrians for the very first time — and the Gordie Howe International Bike Club is marking the occasion with a full day of rides back and forth across the border, connecting riders from both sides.
Every loop starts and ends at Historic Fort Wayne — one Detroit landmark leading the way to a brand new one.
?? THE ROUTE — Every Loop
• Meet at Historic Fort Wayne
• Ride to the Gordie Howe Bridge multi-use path, cross into Windsor
• Sculpture Park — pick up riders on the Canadian side
• Back over the bridge to Detroit
• Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park — another pickup/regroup point
• Back to Historic Fort Wayne to close the loop

?? THE SCHEDULE — 3 Loops Throughout the Day
• Ride 1 — Departs Historic Fort Wayne ~10:15 AM (back ~12:30–1:00 PM)
• Ride 2 — Departs Historic Fort Wayne ~1:30 PM (back ~3:45–4:15 PM)
• Ride 3 — FINAL RIDE, departs Historic Fort Wayne 6:00 PM ?? our sunset crossing, with the sun setting over the Detroit River as we ride the bridge (back ~8:15–8:45 PM)
Join for one loop, a few, or the whole day! Riders can hop on at any pickup point.
?? WHAT TO BRING
• Passport or enhanced ID (required for border crossing — no exceptions)
• Bike in good working condition, helmet
• Water, snacks, weather-appropriate gear
• Front and rear bike lights + reflective gear required for Ride 3
GOOD TO KNOW
This is the multi-use path’s very first day of operation, so border processing times are new and untested — please come with patience and flexibility. Times above are estimates; we’ll post live updates in the event chat throughout the day if anything shifts.
