Ride Friday morning to Dexter and Hudson Mills Metro Park. Pack a lunch or stop in Dexter for coffee or Breakfast. C, B, and A riders welcome. Distances up to riders, most common is Delhi Metro Park to Dexter Metro Park to Hudson Mills Metro Park with 2-loops for 28 miles. Others may start in Dexter and join the main group about 30 minutes after Delhi Metro Park start time. This option shortens the 2-loop ride to 18 miles.
Note there is a $10 daily fee or annual pass required for cars to enter the metro parks. Park elsewhere and ride your bike to the start in Delhi Metro Park if you do not want to buy a daily or annual park pass. Bikes are free.

AABTS Invited to Joe Datsko Memorial
The family of Joe Datsko cordially invites the members of the AABTS to attend his Memorial Ceremony and Celebration of Life at the First United Methodist Church on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, at 2:30 pm. The church is located at the corner of State St, and Huron St.
Knowing how much he cherished riding along Huron River Drive, a few of the family members will join Joe‘s Breakfast Club Ride on Sept. 20 to give him (in urn of ashes) one final ride along that scenic stretch. It will be a Ukrainian variation of an Irish Wake. That afternoon his ashes will be interred at the church‘s Memorial Garden beside Doris, the love of his life, who the Lord called to be with Him on Valentine‘s Day, 2010.

AABTS Invited to Joe Datsko Memorial
As many club members know, Joe Datsko passed away on Leap Day of 2024 at age 103 years old. He deeply missed his many friends in the AABTS after he moved to Maryland to live near two daughters about 10 years earlier. He often expressed that though he had lived in Ann Arbor for most of his adult life, the only thing he missed there now were his dear cyclist friends in the AABTS. He was sad that he could no longer see and visit them.

Distances up to riders, most common is Barton Dam Parkinng lot to Chelsea , but riders may extend to what they want. Options include around Cavanuagh Lake (+10 mi) or trail north from Chelsea to North Territorial Road (+ 10 mi.) or loop to Waterloo and back on Rt. 52 or trail to Chelsea (+18). Alternative start is Wheeler Park in Ann Arbor on your own with meet up at Bird Hill Parking lot at start time or anywhere on Huron River Drive (join us as we ride by). Asphalt and crushed limestone dedicated rail trail. Flat terrain, smooth surface, all types of bikes. Distance 25 to 55 miles getting progressively longer through the season. There will be at least one rest stop on each ride. The route has a number of small towns with bakeries and ice cream spots. There are also a few shaded picnic tables along the trail.

Ride the less-traveled roads West and North of Chelsea. Ride lengths vary from 20 miles early in the season up to 30+ mid-season. Depending on the number of riders, the attendees may make several stops during the ride to regroup or may divide into smaller groups of varying speeds. Many in the group meet in Chelsea area restaurants after for some dinner and socializing. Start Location occasionally changes so check the calendar for any updates.

Distances up to riders, most common is Barton Dam Parkinng lot to Chelsea , but riders may extend to what they want. Options include around Cavanuagh Lake (+10 mi) or trail north from Chelsea to North Territorial Road (+ 10 mi.) or loop to Waterloo and back on Rt. 52 or trail to Chelsea (+18). Alternative start is Wheeler Park in Ann Arbor on your own with meet up at Bird Hill Parking lot at start time or anywhere on Huron River Drive (join us as we ride by). Asphalt and crushed limestone dedicated rail trail. Flat terrain, smooth surface, all types of bikes. Distance 25 to 55 miles getting progressively longer through the season. There will be at least one rest stop on each ride. The route has a number of small towns with bakeries and ice cream spots. There are also a few shaded picnic tables along the trail.
