2015 Commuter Mileage

In an effort to encourage bicycle use for sustainable transportation as well as recreation, AABTS recognizes here the “commuter miles” ridden by its members. Commuter miles are miles ridden for transportation purposes (not recreation). Note that rides ridden to and from club rides (“bookend miles”) count towards club mileage, not commuter mileage.

Please show your support for reducing petroleum use and CO2 emissions by adding your name to this list. Email your new or updated total commuter mileage from January 1, 2016 to date to Craig Stephan at aabtscommuter[at]zoho.com for posting here. This site is updated once a quarter.

Mileage records updated to Jan. 10, 2016

*City driving fuel economy of 22.7 mpg for 2015 was calculated based on EPA sales-weighted overall mpg averages for the past 19 model years of cars and light trucks [1], weighted by annual miles driven [2] and number of vehicles on the road [3]for each cohort. City mpg was estimated using the EPA estimate of 55% highway / 45% city driving and a typical value of 1.4 for the ratio of highway to city mpg. The CO2 emission rate for gasoline is 19.4 lb/gal.
